London - Attractions and Places to Visit
Shopping
London offers one of the best shoooing experiences in the world. Some of the best department stores are found on Oxford Street, notwithstanding, Knightsbridge has two very famous stores in Harrods and Harvey Nichols. Regent Street is also well worth a visit.
If its designer wear and accessories you want , then you want to head for Old (and New) Bond Street, not forgetting Sloane Square - dont forget to take plenty of money with you though, because these shops are not cheap.
If fashion and trend is your think, you need to be heading for Covent Garden and Carnaby Street.
For music lovers, Central London has many music megastores, but Soho is also worth a visit, if your into off-beat genre.
Charring Cross Road and Covent Garden have some great bookstores, and if its jewellery you want, then New Bond Street and Hatton Garden are the places to be.
Dining in London
You can eat almost anything you fancy in London. The cosmopolitan giant offers cuisine from all over the world. But dont forget to sample the traditional British fayre of; fish and chips, roast beef and yorkshire pudding, toad in the hole, bangers and mash and the weight gaining, traditional English breakfast.
Transport in London
There are three primary ways of getting around London, by tube (London underground train), traditional London bus (big red bus) or the London Hackney Cab (black London taxi). It would be a good experience to sample all three forms of transport, but personally, I favour the big red bus, especially the open top bus - you must at least try that - if its not raining, of course.
Parks, gardens, museums and art galleries.
Surprisingly, London as a good deal of green space, notwithstanding the Royal Parks of; St James, Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, Richmond Park, Regents Park, Greenwich Park and Green Park.
You will find scores of art galleries, and more than 20 well worth a visit museums. Must visit museums include; British Museum, London Transport Museum, Natural History Museum, The Science Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum, Theatre Museum and the Bank of England Museum.
